05:42 pm - SmackDown!
Easily the best wrestling show of the week.
There's a reason why this show's ratings keep increasing by the week.
The super-slow old school buildup is not half bad either because it's so different from the way the other shows are presented, that it's actually a fresh and welcome change.
What's not fresh is the incessamt rematches, but that's an overall problem in thorughout WWE where they repeat macthes ad nauseum on all 3 brands.
I mean, Hardy and Helms are good, but what is this, a contest to see who can win in a best of 537?
-I really could have loved to see Boogeyman squash Miz, so hopefully that will happen soon enough.
-Too bad We'll never see the epic blowoff match tot he Tatanka/Lashley feud.
There's always hope Tatanka gets on Hayes' shit list and joins the other SD guys in ECW.
-Kennedy using the mic as his weapon si so coola s it fits nicely with hsi charcter.
They gave this feud solid build so far, but i ahve afeeling the First Blood match will end screwy where Kennedy bleeds first but he ref is kncked out so he makes Undertaker bleed and cleans himslef up to win, which leads to another gimmick match between the 2, hopefully a Buried Alive match.
-London/Regal was solid as can be.
Regal sticking with the knee as apina fter using it to knock out London was sweet.
I don't know about Ashley's supposed breast implant injury, but fromt he looks of it, they're going into some sort of love triangle angle with her and her tag team.
If it had more time, it might haave easily been match of the week.
-Kane/MVP was actually really good and interesting.
The punch spot through the phoen booth was innovative, funny, and awesoem all at the same time.
Kane brought the goods and remains one of the more underrated performers they have.
He might be better off on SD too since he sticks out as more of a monster against a smaller talent pool.
-Hardy/Helms has been done to death and back so much it's like a joke already.
At least change it up with some stipualtions or a best of 7 or something.
It's really a shame they can't find anything else to do with these guys.
Still, match was good and Hardy is still getting nice pops.
-The main event wasn't exactly anything new, but wasn't offensive either.
Batista actually delivered a nice promo before where he laid it out straight to Booker that he was taking his title.
It's funny with Lashley leaving I think they rushed this match because it was still advertised during the local commercials for next week's SD in Nassau Coliseum.
Also, Batista needs to start using the Tiger Bomb as hius finisher again instead of the main event spinebuster(notice how the spear has become a main event move as well now).
-Next week's cage match has the potential to be better than the one on this past Impact.
With 3 singles matches on the PPv, I don't think Sd is the joke brand anymore.
Finally, I have been waiting to give a show this all week, but it's finally time, so, without further ado:
Upgrade!

12:37 pm - RAW
This is going to be long.
More hits than misses on the show, so I guess that's a good thing.
The opening song and video are a major improvement.
Not necessarily due to Papa Roach, just because the old song and video were getting really tired and played out.
The best part of the video has to be Torrie shaking her ass and looking suggestively at the camera.

A major probelm with the company is that everything is realy really predictable.
For instance, when Bischoff announced that Cena had the night off and DX was banned from the building, he was basically telling us they'd be there later.
Not mentioning if DX or Cena were there until their arrivals would have served their run-ins better.
They really overused "Controversy Creates Cash" as they must have said that about 30 times last night.
Seriously, do they ever NOT run anything into the ground anymore?
Bischoff as GM is still good for a change.

I can't believe they have the audacity to continue wasting air time by plugging The Marine.
Are they aware nobody is seeing it right now or are they just in a massive state of denial?

I don't like title switches the day after PPVs.
Melina looked like her top was about to come out any minute.
Oh, and Lillian sucks at announcing a new champion.
She needs to learn from Fink, and they need to bring that guy back out of mothballs stat.

Maria may not be the greatest actress, but she needs to do Playboy ASAP.
Eugene turning heel is the most interesting thing they've done with his character in a while.
I still don't think they're smart enough to pull a "He was faking it" angle though.
K-Fed cuts a better heel promo than most of the guys there, which si abig problem for the company.

He may say "You can't see me" but I sure saw Cena's run-in on Umaga coming from a mile away.
Are they turning Grish heel or just using him in "desperate attempt #68" to get Cena more over as a face?

Shelton might have had the promo of his life last night.
Him saying "bendejo" was priceless.
It's a good thing WWE constantly points out for me that all the black wrestlers are, indeed black, otherwise I wouldn't have known.
"Damn" might be a little overused, but solid backstage skit nonetheless.

Cindy Margolis (Playboy spread very nice BTW) shows up on WWE TV again.
At least JJ wasn't there this time.
I guess Lawler won't be fawning over Masters' entrance anymore, that is if they still actually show it on TV now.
FWIW, Lawler actually looked like he lost some weight and got decent hair, so kudos to him.

JR talking street was just too funny.
I like Cryme Tyme's subtle mannerisms like putting their arm around JR.
The smaller guy with the bullet-proof vest has 50 Cent's walk and gestures down cold.
They should be in line for a title reign soon.

I think they actually could have built up the tag match main event with a better promo, whether it was last night or over a long-term angle.
Edge could've referenced hsi feud with Flair while Piper could bash Douchebag and his father before he gets reminded that he was RKO'ed once before and it'll happen again because he's looking at the "Legend Killer."
That feud writes itself really.

DX's run-in was inevitable but the end was damn ugly.
They just had to gay it up there didn't they?
Would it kill them for the show to go 2 weeks without man-ass?
That was the 2 steps back for the show that was, up to that point, taking 1 step forward.
Really now, this guy has been on TV too much recently and needs to be locked up somewhere dangerous along with Miz.
I don't know, but maybe, just maybe, the ending would have been better with HHH holding a sledgehammer to Eric's face while HBK held him and threatening to use it as the show goes off the air.
Then again, why do that when you have a near-naked fat guy running around?

10:22 pm - Magazine Article
I'm writing a magazine article on why people still purchase CDs in the age of downloading and digital mp3 players.
I would love to ask people and survey but I simply don't have the time.
If anyone can give me an answer as to why they still buy CDs, along with their name or initials and age, that would really help me a lot.
I'll even send each response a cool link.
All responses can be posted right here ASAP as the article is due Thursday.
I hope you can help!
I should be back with Unforgiven predictions Sunday, as this PPV actually has a better looking lineup than SummerSlam.

09:42 pm - American Idol
I haven't updated my LJ in months, but it took something like this to make me motivated enough to write.
American Idol is seriously screwed up.
The voting is either fixed or the 12 year old girls just vote more than anyone else and ruin the whole system.
How the hell does Chris manage to get voted off with 3 eliminations left?
This guy should have won the whole thing, but now he's gone before Elliot Yamin?
That is ridiculous.
Chris was the only one with balls enough to be himself and stick to his "rocker" persona without putting on the "kiss ass to the kids" act.
This is almost like last year with Bo Bice, except he actually made it to the finals.
Elliot looks weird, is less talented, and should have been gone a long time ago.
The only reason he stayed tonight is because Simon had to praise him last night, which totally swung the votes.
Katharine McPhee annoys the hell out of me with her constant smiling and modeling during every single song she sings.
She seems so fake and insincere, and the saddest part is that the little girls eat it up because they think she's the next Kelly Clarkson, when she really isn't.
Taylor Hicks isn't that bad and seems to enjoy himself, but he's not more talented than Chris.
The bottom line is this: Chris is more talented than the remaining contestants that are still there and it's a damn shame that he won't win the contest and a tragedy that he got voted off tonight.

07:46 pm - No Way Out Predictions
I've decided to do some predictions for the PPV since I can't do a full rant on it due to the fact that my magic cable box is gone and I ain't wasting $35 on this.
So here we go...
Cruiserweight Open
Helms: should retain since he's fightign against 8 other guys and just won the belt, setting up afuture feud with Kid Kash, or probably just another "throw all the cruiserweights in" match for the title at WM

MNM vs. Matt Hardy & ????
MNM: they should go into WM as the champs as not lose it to some makeshift team here, best bet on the partner is Animal with Tatanka having an outside shot, no Jeff, sorry

JBL vs. Bobby Lashley
Lashley:undefeated and on a roll, should stop JBL, who has been in free-fall mode since losing the belt

US Championship:Booker T vs. Chris Benoit
Benoit: it's about time he finally wins the belt back as this feud has just dragged on and Booker doesn't even look interested in wrestling again

#1 Contender's Match for Main Event at WM 22: Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton
Orton: unfortunately Douchebag is going to win this one since he's the "chosen one" (for an undeserved push) and ti shoudl get ugly with Eddie's family being there, hopefully no ill-advised heel turn from Chavo or some screwy shit like that

World Heavyweight Championship: Kurt Angle vs. Undertaker
Angle:should and will win it and I would bank on Mark Henry interfering to cost Undertaker the match as revenge for last week's SD, which sets up their match at WM

10:14 pm - RAW
Carlito is the Most Imroved Player of the Year.
-The Carlito/RVD match was awesome and match of the night.
-Even Masters's match wasn't too bad.
-Big Show/Shelton was good as well, but the ending to HHH/Flair was stupid as he pedigreed him in avery anticlimactic finish.
-HBK's "Retirement" BS looks interesting for next week.
-I don't know if it's the fact that I hate Cena so much, or that Edge has really come into his own, but I'm liking him more and more by the day as he continues to show he's 1 of the better guys on the mic when given a chance.
"Let's pair Cena with Maria and make him kiss her to get a solid face reaction."
What's next in the game Vince love to play called "Get Cena Full Crowd Support"?
-Trish's date might kill this whole angle dead in the water, because the real heat is with the girls and should be left with the girls, preferrably in some sort of sexual action taking place.
-Good show overall with a setup for Foley/Edge at Mania, and next Thursday's RAW with RVD going over Masters and HHH beating Big Show to set up another unfortunate RVD loss to HHH.
The only saving grace with that will be when HHH and Cena do the double turn for their match at WM and HHH wins the belt again.

12:20 am - I'm back/RR thoughts
So I'm back after missing the 1 week when both champions lost their belts but I'm all caught up and I saw the PPV so...
Royal Rumble thoughts

Helms brings the cruiserweight belt to RAW?
If he doesn't move to SD, that title switch made no sense.

Boogeyman/JBL was bowling shoe ugly and it's pretty funny ot see how far JBL has fallen down the food chain.

The women's match was pretty crappy, with the blown spots and the crowd shitting on it heavily towards the end.
Mickey's music sounds like it was made for someone on X.
Mickey's thighs are fucking huge, while Ashley looks like she lost about 15-20 lbs since winning the Diva Search.
Nice of Mickey to pull the tights while powerbomobing Ashley for the win to give the requisite crack shot.

The Rumble match, the supposed "main event", gets shunted to the middle because Undertaker needs to make his required Rumble appearance with more special effects than the last time.

As soon as HHH and Rey started the match, I knew they were lasting till the end.
RVD had a solid showing, with HBK and Carlito also bringing it.
I didn't like Big Show, Kane, and Flair getting eliminated quickly while Tatanka and MNM lasted for a while.
Goldust tried so hard to get a pop for his "Golden Globes" move like his career depended on it.
I always liked him, so it would be nice if he stayed.
Eugene didn't get such a great pop and does nothing for me at thsi point, so next.
So much for pushing Lashley huh?

Overall, the Rumble match was 1 of the weakest and most boring in a while.
Tatanka is still fat and needs to get back in shape before jiggling his boobs down there again.
As soon as Douchebag made his way down, I knew the final 4 would be him, RVD, HHH, and Rey.
It was fun watching Douchebag make an ass of himself again, with most of his offense consisting of making dumb faces to the camera.
Thankfully, he lost and will not headline WM and hopefully he'll go back to the midcard, where he belongs.
Rey winning was a nice touch, though I wish he could have done it without having Eddie's name mentioned every 2 seconds.
I still don't buy him as a world HEAVYWEIGHT champion though.

After that, they kill the entire last month by taking 2 steps backward and giving Cena the belt back.
You can give himn all the pyros and spaceship entrances you want, but he's still lame as all hell.
He was booed throughout the match and didn't even get such a big pop upon winning the belt.
So now Edge looks like crap, and the guy the fans don't like is still being portrayed as the hero babyface champion.

Having Angle/Henry as the main event, with Sexual Chocolate main eventing a fucking PPV was mind-boggling.
For a second I thought maybe they're smart enough to know Angle will get a bigger face pop than Cena and is the right face champ to close the show.
Then my cynicism kicked in and I realized Undertaker was due for an appearance.
The match was pretty bad with Angle looking weak being the desperate champion that has to resort to cheating to beat the fat fuck Henry.
What should have happened was Angle using his wrestling skil, since he's the supposed "wrestling machine", to beat Henry.
Of course, they didn't go that way and chose to make Henry look strong with the no-selling of 2 chairshots and all.
There was no reason he couldn't have done a staredown/fistfight with Angle to close the show, but I guess he has to stick with his classic supernatural crap, as that's his M.O.

What the PPV did acomplish was set up a lot of questions.
Is Undertaker turning heel?
Is he going for the belt in a throwaway match at No Way Out or is he going to WM with his streak on the line? (probably the former)
Is Edge's career dead?
Is Cena really going into WM as the face champion?
If so, he should do the double turn with HHH with Cena losing the belt.
Does Rey go for Cena or Angle and are they really letting SD get the main event of WM over RAW and HHH?
We shall see what happens.
I'm out.

09:59 pm - SmackDown
First off, does anyone else here absolutely hate the opening theme to SD?
I think it's extremely irritating.

I'm glad I missed last week's episode of SD, since ths week seemed to be the same thing.
I didn't notice any forward angle movement or progression between the show i read about last week and the show I saw last night.

Let's see if there was any difference between the last 2 episodes of SD...
-Matt Hardy/JBL opening the show with unnecessary interference from the Boogeyman, leading to the epic JBL/Boogeyman match we all can't wait for

-Press conference with Melina/Batista continuin to be absolutely pointless

-Booker T blowing off OJ as his replacement only to give Douchebag the nod, with the match ending ina DQ after someone hits Benoit with a crutch

-Batista/Rey Lose ot MNM in atag title match thanks to interference fromt he "World's Most Undeserved Recurring Push" Mark Henry

Conclusion:SmackDown only needs to be viewed every other week as I saw no difference between last night's show and the show the week before.
No wonder why it's the "B" show.

Anyways, that's it for me for a while.
I'll be going to Miami, Florida tomorrow and will be back the 26th (which is strangely 3 days before WWE comes to Miami for the Royal Rumble)
I should be missing NYR as well as most RAWs and SDs until I get back, so any updates on wrestling posted here would be greatly appreciated.

On that note, I am out!

12:03 am - RAW
After watching 2 great episodes of Arrested Development leadign in to RAW, I thought RAW wasn't that bad and continued the night of good TV.

First off, at least Vince is now admitting RAW is his owen personal masturbation session.
That's the first step anyway.

I don't know about Lawler/Helms, but at least it gives Helms some camera time on RAW, so hopefully he makes the most of it.
Plus, Helms has grown in the "heel beard" nicely.

Besides for the crap with Masters' entrance, Coach is improving, which I never thought I'd say.
A great line came when Coach said the people are silent becuase they are in awe of Masters.
Yeah, maybe they're silent because he's Chris fucking Masters and he doesn't have a shred of charisma.

I don't like how Trish is suddenly homophobic (lesbophobic?) or whatever and can't embrace Mickey.
The tease of Trish in the shower was just cruel and hopefully thsi leads to some sort of indecent proposal angle ala Torrie/Dawn but hotter.
Speaking of T&A (not the company JJ is holding down), Maria looked damn good out there and that bra and panties gauntlet match should leave some lasting images.

The Edge/Flair segments only prove how stupid bad comedy is.
The person writing these segments has to get past the 5th grade level humor.

It's about damn time the announcers moved back to ringside.
I don't know about the retro 80s interview stage near the entrance, but the announce table all the way back there never did it for me.

Shelton's mom looked exactly as I expected.
I'm going to see how ugly this gets before I totally write it off.

HHH's work-but-really-shoot comment about how he takes advantage of every situation, even in the back, was priceless.
Big Show's cast was bigger than a fuckign sledgehammer.
It looks like he's going for the old use the cast as a weapon ala Undertaker(vs. Brock)until HHH smashes it with the sledgehammer and pedigrees him for the win.

The crowd was electric and awesome (naturally my fellow New Yorkers) as they gave Cena the shitting on he so rightly deserved.
It looked like it threw his game off a little during his wannabe Rock attempt at dissing the other guys in the cage match.
Of course he gives the shwo a shitty ending with an FU to the delight of nobody.

All in all, good build to the PPV, so not too bad of a show.

11:13 pm - RAW
RAW was weird tonight, not too good or too bad, just very iffy.

Many people screwed up their lines.
Chris Masters calling the PPV new Year's RESOLUTION, Vince calling the title the Undisputed WWE title, and Lawler's numerous screwups.

The Cutting Edge segment was like a crappy version of Conan.
Flair not talking is dragging this whole feud down.
Kudos to Edge, though, for actually reminding us he still has a contract to face the champion.
The time on that contract is really ticking, as Edge doesn't belong anywhere near the WM main event yet.

Big Show continues to deliver on the mic.
2 questions about that segment:
1)Is the black tape on his finger for his ring, or was it there for the sledgehammer attack?
2)Where have I seen his chokeslamming hand getting injured before?

The Angle/Daivari "match" was 1 of the first time I saw a referee with balls.
Why can't all refs use their brain like that?

Chavo/Masters was good but dragged out a little.
Nice to see they didn't job Chavo, but why bother putting Masters in the chamber if he doesn't get over at the end of the match even with a post-match beatdown or something?

Carlito's promo was awesome and his match was entertaining as well.
He hit Reno's "Roll the Dice" on Victoria nicely.

Vince really needs to stop making the show his own personal blowjob.
The skits with Grisham and Torrie were stupid, with the only thing of consequence coming from either one being that we found out Torrie's dog's name is Chloe.

Mickie's Nidia-like hair looked crappy, but her kissing Trish makes the angle 1,000 times more interesting.
I just don't want Trish heel, as Mickie turning would make more sense.

The crowd chants during Cena/Benjamin were interesting.
The funny thing is that the Cena chants had a higher pitch, like they were ocming from women and children, while the Benjamin chants sounded like they came from men.
About time the audience started waking up and progressively shitting on Cena week after week.
Of course the only way for him to get cheered is to put him against "turncoat" Kurt Angle.
Hopefully, even that won't work next week.

I don't know what the point of the final segment was.
Bret's not coming back, so stop teasing.
Vince giving a DVD that he profits from a negative review would be just nonsensical.
So what's going to happen now?
Vince is going to "screw" HBK at NYR in another stupid Montreal ripoff, and even stupider now when they're trying to make it look like a shoot when it obviously isn't.
As Shawn told Vince, "Get over it."

That's it for now.

06:52 pm - Santa=Satan?
I read something interesting on the web the other day.
There happens to be an interesting link between Santa Claus and Satan.
Here's my take on it.
It's pretty obvious that Satan takes the form of Santa to come and commercialize Christmas and take the focus off the birth of Jeebus.
Let's look at the similarities.
1.Santa and Satan both wear red. Santa just wears white to make you think he's pure and holy, but he's just as black as Satan.
2.Santa is just an anagram of Satan. Coincidence? I think not.
3.Santa has his elves just like Satan has his devils.
4.Santa uses a cane like Satan uses his pitchfork.
5.St. Nick without rthe "ick" sure sounds like Satan.
6.Ho ho ho? More like ha ha ha, as Satan is laughing at your foolishness for accepting him as Santa Claus.
Santa causes problems amongst those who can't afford presents as he forces parents who don't have much money to spend whatever they can on presents.
Is this the work of a jolly fat man or an evil devil?
Santa divides families and friends causes fights over presents and jealousy as the holiday turns into a "who has the better present" contest.
In closing, I think it is pretty obvious that Satan is really Santa in disguise as he takes the holiness and goodwill from the holiday and turns it into one of greed and commercialism, which only leads to problems.
There you hae it.
Happy Holidays!!!

02:31 pm - RAW
RAW served its purpose by entertaining the troops.

For the critics who derided it as a publicity stunt, I haev this to say.
When Sean Penn took a photographer to New Orleans to help out after Hurricane Katrina, he received similar backlash.
My take on it is that even if he took the camera, he still helped.
The motives might be self-serving, but a good deed was still done.
It's like when someone donates a building and they have a cermony with their name on the building and everything.
The bottom line still remains is that they spent their own money on a building that will service other people.
Similarly, at the end of the day, WWE went to Afghanistan and entertained the troops. Period.

On a lighter note, Joey Styles had some interesting lines.
The first was when the camera cut to Rita Cosby cheering for Cena and Styles rhetorically asked, "Who isn't a fan of Cena?"
That was priceless and even funnier because Cena himself acknowledged that half the crowd thinks he sucks on a previous RAW.

The second Styles lines was when Lawler tried to make it like the announcers were actually in Afghanistan and Styles corrected him by saying, "King, we're not there, we're in WWE headquarters."
What was also great about that was it made me remember last year when Cole and Tazz pretended to be in Iraq when they clearly weren't.

Other random observations:
Snitsky definitely put on weight, but still has backne.
Trish seems like the coldest of all the divas, with not as much warmth, or even personality, as Ashley, Candice, Maria, or even Lillian.
JBL and Foley were instantly recognizable.
It's always fun to see Coach get his ass kicked.
Nobody nitpicking about HHH's job, which he has done more of than win in the last year.
That's it.

09:50 pm - SmackDown
Good show this week.

Boogeyman's act is really getting stale and the worm thing is pretty nauseating.
This guy needs to go and fast.

Where was Benoit on the show before the PPV?
I hope he's not really considering leaving, which would really suck asshole.

I didn't catch the part with Batista and Melina, but it sounded funny.
It's nice to see a face like Batista who isn't stupid and whose balls aren't cut off yet.

I missed the Kid Kash/Super Crazy match, but giving more tiem to the cruiserweights on the show can only be a good thing.

The tag team title match was greta and the switch was nice going into the PPV.
Rey's reverse hurricanrana off the top reminded me of him in WCW, when he used to pull unpredictable moves like that all the time.
Hopefully, we see more of that in the future instead of the repetitive 619.
I don't like how Rey has to mention Eddie every show either.
Not to disrespect Eddie, but I think Rey should be left to stand on his own without having every 1 of his matches being a dedication to Ediie and the chanting of his name during the matches is really unnecessary as well.

With the JBL/Hardy feud, I can't decide if JBL is falling down the ranks or Matt is being pushed.
Or is it just bad for both of them?

I saw a sneak attack by Orton on Undertaker coming from a mile away.
I don't know whose fault it is, but the RKOs on Undertaker come out bad every time.

That's it.
If I have time, I'll do Armageddon predictions tomorrow.
Otherwise, I'll be back with my thoughts on the show.

09:42 pm - RAW
RAW was OK, well as OK as it gets while studying for a final at the same time.

Vince making himself GM for the night after talking for 1 minute, was pretty obvious.
I thought it was pretty funny how he freaked out on Angle and made like interrupting him was worse than disrespecting the troops or anything else.

If it was a "You Can't See Me" match and Vince is the supposed face GM, wouldn't it make more sense to put Daivari under a blindfold?
Wait, no booking Cena to "overcome the odds" again was the way to go since we've never seen him do that yet.

I like the Trish/Mickey build a lot, but I think it makes more sense to turn Mickey heel as the rabid fan who wants the belt badly.

I don't like booking Benjamin as a cocky dumbass, and with HBK in the chamber, where does that leave him for NYR?

As far as bitching about Viscera, he was the freaking #10 contender, not anywhere near #1.
Who else should have been put there?
The underpushed Chavo or Helms, maybe, but Viscera's got the most camera time so he's the de facto #10 guy.

Edge continues to play his role as "heel shooter who will say anything to piss you off" very well.
If only he could wrestle without injuring himself every month.

It's so ridiculous how desperate they are to push Angle as a heel and Cena as a face when the fans don't want it that way.
Actually, more sad than ridiculous.

The HHH/Big Show build was smart booking with the finishes to both qualifying matches, which included holding HHH up in the air for like 15 seconds.
They're better off in a singles match than a PPV anyway, especially if HHH isn't going to win his 3rd Chamber match.

That's it after a long ass day (fucking college finals).

08:50 pm - SmackDown
Another mediocre SD this week so my thoughts should be short.

OJ is back with JBL again? Is this really necessary?
Also, WTF is up with his hair? It keeps getting fruitier every time I see it.
I say make the most use out of OJ and turn him into a wife-killer while trying to hilariously recreate the OJ trial from 10 years ago.
Hey, it can't be worse than what they're doing with Shelton Benjamin.

This Boogieman thing is getting really old really fast.
The 1-move wonder who eats worms can only go so far before it gets repetitive and boring, which I think has already happened.

With Lashley, they need to either shit or get off the pot.
give the guy soem credible wins and turn him into something before he justs wastes away on Velocity squashing meaningless jobbers.

Rey Mysterio's matches have becoem increasingly stale and annoying.
He relies on the 619 WAY too much and it defines his whole match.
He sets up for it, makes the guy's head lie on the rope like a shmuck, attempts it 1-2 times and misses before finalyl hitting 1-2 more times.
Maybe his knee injuries have slowed him down, but he can at least try to resemble the guy who put on awesome matches in WCW time after time.
The irony is his moveset was so unpredictable and he could beat you with anything, but now it's become extremely predictable and boring.

The Undertaker/Orton storyline continues to be ridiculously overboooked and phony.
This isn't 1995, there is no more Papa Shango, and nobody believes Undertaker is really a dead person.
The mirror crap and "possessing of Josh Matthews' soul" are way over the top and totally unnecessary.
What is so fucking hard about booking it as a feud between 2 guys who hate each other and have fought multiple times without resorting to this supernatural crap.
The highlight video of Undertaker's past Hell in the Cell matches was good, and that is the way to go, but did anyone else find the image of a a dead Bossman hanging by his neck a tad disturbing? (I guess the new trend is exploiting past wrestlers' deaths.)

Well, I guess it wasn't that short after all.

03:29 pm - RAW
I thought RAW totally reeked of awesomeness.
-No Coach on commentary was great.
-Big Show/Kane dominating the entire tag division to make them over as monsters before their PPV match against Batista/Rey was good.
The triple chokeslam spot was very cool looking.
-I've lost count of how many times has HHH squashed Tajiri.
But I did love Vince "introducing" him to Stephanie.
-Mick Foley was at his comedic peak last night, which reminded me of his old commissioner days and why he should be the new GM.
I was almost on the floor when he broke out the moonpies and then continued eating them when the Boogeyman showed up.
-Mickie James was good and I'd rather see her turn heel than Trish.
I wonder if the broken wand was a blown spot or not.
I don't think Torrie looked anorexic at all.
-Chavo was good but I can't help but not feel bad for him every time he comes out.
-Edge is good in that fake shooter role and his promo with Edge was good enough for a PPV match (not that I want to see an injured Edge battle an old fat Dok Hendrix, but still).
Maybe AA would've been better since he's Flair's buddy, but Hayes still delivered and made the Cutting Edge a nice new talk show.
-Maria was at her best and byanney, you should do whatever you can to watch that clip of her during the trial.
-Ripping apart Ashlee Simpson never gets old and Vince pulled that one off nicely.
His yelling at Chris Masters was also quite comical.
-An HBK/Benjamin match can only lead to good things, but why turn him heel in his hometown?
-I was happy not to see Cena all night, but his appearance was limited and in a non-wrestling role, so it wasn't that bad.
-They really got to fire the guy who puts out the PPV commercials because I saw the Elimination Chamber one last week and I saw an advertised Eddie/Orton Survivor Series match the week after he died.
What's worse is that these commercials played in the major market known as New York.
-I was surprised to see Bischoff actually get fired without resorting to another bait and switch.
It was good they didn't mention any replacements last night, because they need to drag it out a little longer.
-That's it for me. Check out my LJ when you get a chance!

07:25 pm - SmackDown
I missed the first half hour so I'll pick up from where I started.

I don't think I've ever seen a Benoit/Regal match where there was no bleeding, and this goes back 10 years to WCW.
I remember when they used a wide angle camera on Nitro because they wouldn't show blood on TV, sometime in 1998, for a Benoit/Regal match.
good effort as usual from these 2 with Benoit nailing Booker T nicely after the match.

You got to feel for Matt Hardy, the guy eats more pinfalls than Viscera eats anything.
He was the fucking #1 guy voted on the SD team for Taboo Tuesday and he doesn't even get ont he Survivor Series team or on the PPV at all for that matter.
That's what we call not listening to the fans.

Douchebag's running away from Undertaker's "scary" voice went a little long but served its purpose.
Still, I would think they would go with a Buried Alive match with the way this feud has progressed.
Hopefully this is their last blowoff match and Undertaker wins so he doesn't have to go on another vacation.
Note to WWE: Douchebag winning the title again will not work, please don't go there.

I don't know how long Boogeyman will last until his character gets lame and overdone.
I'm thinking with him using 1 move in his debut match and the way his character is extremely overbooked, that he doesn't possess the greatest wrestling skills.

When will Lashley win a meaningful match or be given more than 2 seconds to speak?

I thought JBL cares os much about SD that he puts his differences aside for the brand. Him walking away goes against what his character's been doing for the last 2 months.
Do we really need another JBL/Rey feud anyway?

At least RAW won 1 match in the "epic" RAW/SD rivalry.
Sometimes I think Batista's sole purpose is to save the day and clear the ring of the heels with 2 minutes left in the show. He's gotta go beyond that.

That's it for my recap.
Final word: Go Giants!!!

04:12 pm - SmackDown Special
You might as well call me Kevin Nash, because I'm going to pull a "Big Lazy" by copying my rant from Scott's Blog of Doom.
Here goes:
So... how about that Booker T/Benoit match?

Anyways, anyone notice how almost every single controversial angle, match, or skit revolves around the Undertaker in some way?
Let's see, there's the crucifixion, Satan worshipping involving cutting open people and taking their "souls", Hassan, and others I'm probably leaving out.
I like watching his matches but each one seems to be more overbooked than the next and he keeps "dying" and returning at a rapid speed.
It'll be interesting to see how the announcers discuss the destruction of Eddie's car on SmackDown.
I don't know what else to say that hasn't already been said, other than how necessary really was it in the grand scheme of things to involve Eddie's car in this angle?

One final thought: Is Edge ever going to use his money in the bank shot?

06:49 pm - RAW
I don't have that much to say but here goes.
There were way too many technical problems in the show as the sound and picture kept going out in the 1st hour.

Torrie Wilson didn't look too happy to be there last night.

Angle should've gave Maria a belly-to belly suplex from the hug. It's the ideal move from the hug.

It's interesting to see them continue to keep the belt on Cena as he faces so-called "insurmountable" odds while his boos keep getting louder.
When you have people rooting for Chris Masters in your title match, there's a bit of a problem with your #1 face and his belt.

What's up with Flair's road rage charge?
I thought Terry Funk was the one who was middle-aged and crazy.

Finally, a big fuck you to FOX for canceling Reunion.
That was my favorite new drama this year.
If they don't let the show finish this season, I'm going ot be pissed as all hell.
I mean Arrested Development's cancellation was bad enough, but what's next Family Guy?
Memo to Fox: Learn how to properly market and promote your shows and don't treat their devoted fans as pieces of shit.

That's it for now.
I should be back with my thoughts on the Smackdown Special later tonight or tomorrow morning.
